Specimen requirements 1 g of stool
Procedure remarks Animal haemoglobin and plant peroxidase produce false positive values; polyps, haemorrhoids and other sources of bleeding reduce the tumour specificity of the test; test for colorectal cancer; low sensitivity of approx. 50 %, which is why testing on 3 consecutive days is recommended.
